Bofa uses three phases of filtration. The first phase is the pre-filtration, where the filter captures the larger particulates (0.8 microns) with 95% efficiency. This section is important because the next stage of the filtration is continuing with a hepa filter, which is an expensive thing. That’s the reason why we have to apply a prefilter, to extend the hepa filters’ life, which works with 99.997% efficiency at 0.3 microns.
HEPA filters consist of a complicated mix of filaments and fibers that carry a static charge which lures various microbes and particles like a magnet. While the particles travel through the air filtration system, they’re captured and retained within the filter.
The third stage is going to be activated carbon, which capttures the gas and the ordor mainly of the material you are working from.
Mainly our extractors contains two physical filters, because the main filter contains both the hepa and the carbon, and the prefilter is separated in another filter case.
